Morning at the Studio
The sun streams through our big windows as our team arrives at our New York studio around 9 AM. Coffee cups in hand, we start with a quick morning meeting to share updates and set goals for the day.
Our space reflects our design approach – clean and organized, but with unexpected details that make it special. Fabric samples hang on the walls, mood boards stand on easels, and sketches fill many surfaces.
Design in Action
On any given day, you might find:
- Our design team sketching new ideas or refining existing ones
- Fabric samples being compared side by side in natural light
- A fitting session with our fit model, making sure every piece looks good on a real body
- Pattern makers carefully cutting paper patterns or adjusting them based on feedback
- Sample makers working at sewing machines, bringing designs to life
“Every piece goes through about 3-5 versions before we’re happy with it,” explains our lead designer. “Sometimes the smallest adjustment – moving a seam half an inch, changing a collar shape slightly – makes all the difference.”
Afternoon Problem-Solving
After a quick lunch break (often eaten together around our big work table), the afternoon usually involves solving design challenges:
- How can we make this top more flattering for different body types?
- Is there a way to add pockets without disrupting the clean lines?
- Can we strengthen this seam to improve durability?
- Will this fabric hold the structured shape we want?
“Fashion is really about solving problems,” says our production manager. “We’re always asking: how can we make this better for the person who will wear it?”
Quality Checks
Before the day ends, our quality control process begins:
- Every sample is inspected for even stitching
- Team members try on pieces to check for comfort
- All fabrics are checked for flaws
- Measurements are compared to our size charts
- Photos are taken to track the development process
“We treat every piece like someone’s favorite,” our quality manager explains. “Because we hope it will be.”
End of Day: Looking Forward
As the studio quiets down around 6 PM, our team often gathers to share thoughts on the day’s progress. Ideas that seemed impossible in the morning sometimes find solutions by day’s end.
Before leaving, many team members jot down notes and ideas that came to them during the day – inspiration for tomorrow’s work.
